Tim's Team - Shelter #2 - Part 1
Now that the welders know the format of the shelter frames we had them prepare them before the arrival of Tim's team. Everything was ready for their arrival.
The cement workers were preparing the back corner to prepare a sort of park setting.
Tim and Rob discussed their projects that they were going to be doing during their stay here.
We planned to cement the back corner area and built a ring around the trees so that they could get the moisture that they needed.
It sure is amazing to see the change to this side of the house.
The line of blocks aid in the drainage towards the front of the yard.
Levi helped put on the support frame for the roof.
The team members were Tim, Bill, Rob, and Levi.
Once the frame is set and level the support posts are cemented in.
Bill Vandergaag is a Haiti mission pro. He has made at least 3-4 visits to Haiti. He still is working on his Creole though:)
Here's a good picture of teamwork!
We still have to keep the barbed wire in place. That side wall is a popular spot for thieves to enter the yard.
Our home-made wagon that Jeff designed from an old stretcher and a couple of wheels makes carrying bags of cement easy.
It didn't take long to start nailing the lumber to the frame.
The shelter is a little bigger than the finished one next to it. It needs to be to accommodate the size of one of the kindergarten classes.
The children had fun looking at the pictures that Rob took.
Our little park is taking form!
The guys framed the structure in a day.
The cement workers are preparing the ground for cementing.
Ysmaille stopped by to visit. He and his steel workers do all our steel work here at Coram Deo. Fonise in the yellow and Bejena in the white both reside here at Coram Deo.
Bony is one of interpretors that we use when we have clinics. He speaks english well.
A distant shot of the workers preparing the ground for cement.
It was Levi's first trip to Haiti. He did good for a rookie!
The cement pour has begun!
The cement bosses worked quickly.
The guys worked hard at mixing a lot of cement quickly.
Tim is walking with a purpose :)
The guys are becoming experts in roofing.
It is good seeing everyone working together to accomplish a goal.
Bit by bit the park took shape.
